GNTO Serbia: Familiarization trip to Eastern Halkidiki

The unsurpassed natural beauty, as well as the unique gastronomic, cultural, and religious experiences that Eastern Halkidiki can offer its visitors, impressed journalists and tour operators from Slovenia and Croatia, who recently visited the region, at the initiative of the GNTO Foreign Service of Serbia.

The GNTO, in collaboration with the Municipality of Eastern Halkidiki, organized from May 17 to 20, 2025, a familiarization trip for journalists from important Slovenian and Croatian media such as RTV Slo, Adriatic Traveller, Dalmacija Danas, as well as the Tour Operator from Croatia, Ozbor Holidays.

The guests had the opportunity to participate in the symposium “Aristotle’s Honey” – in the Arnea region, where Slovenian beekeepers were invited to the honey exhibition. In addition to the Symposium, they took a cruise around Mount Athos, visited the city of Ouranoupoli, cruised the sea steps of Aristotle, toured a modern mussel farming facility, and visited Aristotle’s birthplace, Stageira.

As part of the trip, they also visited the gastronomic and wine event “Kouzina 2025”, led by chef Dina Nikolaou. The event featured desserts and dishes with variations. At the end of the trip, a short visit to the city of Thessaloniki was also held.
