Their adventure was documented in a miniseries of vlogs (two episodes published so far), in which they shared the route, the costs involved, the first impressions about the Polychrono and Kallithea resorts on the Kassandra arm in Halkidiki-one of the destinations in the top of the Romanians, due to their proximity to Romania-and their proximity to Romania.
In the following days, the vloggers will post information about the new prices in the supermarkets of the Greek resorts, to help those who choose the holidays on their own. Even if these prices are before the summer season, they can provide a useful basis for 2025 holiday planning in Greece, giving you a general idea of the necessary budget.

Comfortable and accessible accommodation – what they found on the spot
Arriving in Polychrono, they chose to stay in a modern villa, located only 200 meters from the beach, reserved by booking, in an area in full tourist development and still unfinished in terms of infrastructure (the roads between villas are unpaved, as well as access to the beach, and some villas are still under construction).
The villa chosen by Romanian tourists, as shown from the images on the vlog, offers clean, fully equipped cameras, including facilities adapted to people with disabilities – a rarely encountered detail. The cost of accommodation was 1450 lei for 4 nights.
The only disadvantage found by the Romanians was the lack of an umbrella on the terrace of the apartment, but, in the rest, they appreciated the comfort of the accommodation unit and the full equipment.
How much does a meal cost on the Greek coast before the summer season: what can you eat
They also noted that, being at the beginning of the season, many Polychrono taverns were closed, like many accommodation units, but found an excellent option for the evening meal. In the absence of the traditional Gyros, they chose to serve chicken and pork kebap in an open tavern, where the table impressed not only by taste, but also by spectacular serving: pieces of meat suspended on a stand, accompanied by paste, fried potatoes and tzatziki. The cost of portion – 12.5 euros, and the cost of a meal for two people, including drinks, was about 27 euros. “We do not know what it smells better, meat or potatoes”joked the young people decretizing that the meal was “Copious and delicious”.
Holiday experience before the season – such as water in April
The choice to travel before the summer season had obvious advantages: lower prices, less agglomeration and better services.
The young people managed to enjoy the quiet of the beach, and the water, although cold in April, offered them an invigorating sensation: “We expected that when we get out of the water it will be cold, but on the contrary, the outside temperature was perfect.”
Greek Easter, through the eyes of Romanian tourists: traditions and discoveries – as the Greeks spend
After the first vlog, dedicated to the road to Greece, transport costs, accommodations and table options, the holiday adventure continued with a video focused on Easter traditions. Although the Easter holiday in Greece resembles the one in Romania, the Romanian vloggers have noticed some important differences: “It is like us, with small differences. We, for example, rarely prepare the lamb..
They also noticed that after the Resurrection service, the Greeks serve a light table, which includes the collision of painted eggs and a traditional lamb soup-an ancient custom that we also reported in an article dedicated to the Easter traditions that seem detached from the movies, from different cultures.
Impressed by the friendly friendly atmosphere of the Easter holiday, the vloggers noted that, in many courts – either of the accommodation units, or of the holiday villas – the Greeks on Easter leave prepared lamb, a tradition with joy. Inspired by this experience, the couple also offered useful advice for those who want to spend Easter in Greece: “Choose a accommodation where the owners live, to live the Greek Easter holidays authentic.”
What can you do Easter in Greece – visits and experiences
The vloggers mentioned that, in Easter, in the Greek resorts, the great supermarkets remain open, facilitating the quick supply with food for a comfortable holiday. Also, they were pleasantly surprised by a traditional Greek dance, improvised by the locals right in the middle of the street, at a tavern – a moment that is deeply excited.
On the first day of Easter, they chose to visit Kallithea, considered the most popular resort on the Kassandra arm, just 10 kilometers from Polychrono, where they were staying. They called it “Mamaia Kassandrei”being famous for his clubs and the vibrant atmosphere that attract many young people, especially from Thessaloniki, come to spend the holidays at the seaside.
However, during Easter period, the resort seemed still quiet, almost deserted: “Now there is no one on the streets, but probably in less than two weeks, somewhere in early May (ideal For perfect escapade in the May 1 mini -vacation – n.red.)the situation will change completely ””.
Vloggers also noted that access to the beaches of Kallithea is made descending numerous stairs, the resort being located on the rocks above the sea. In addition, they recalled the times when a Gyros costs only 1.5 euros, compared to the current prices, when, even in the off -season, a fridge magnet costs at least 2 euros, and a simple bread (pita) without a plate, is not found below 5.5 euros. “Inflation speaks its word here, as everywhere”they commented.
Easter holiday costs in Greece and conclusions
In total, the Easter getaway in Greece of Romanian vloggers cost about 1,975 lei (including transport, accommodation and tables) – a reasonable amount for four nights at the beginning of the tourist season.
“You can’t love Greece. Water is demented, and food and hospitality are at height.”they concluded the vloggers, happy to experience a different holiday, before the summer crowds.
Although not all taverns were open and not all hoteliers were still prepared for tourists, Easter beach escapade proved to be an inspired choice for those who want to avoid agglomeration and enjoy Greece in a quieter setting and affordable prices.
Why do Romanians Halkidiki prefer the Romanians
Halkidiki is a region located in northern Greece, close to Thessaloniki, made up of three peninsula (or arms) that extend into the Aegean Sea: Kassandra – the most western and popular arm, famous for his tourist resorts and animated night life; Sithonia – the second arm, which is distinguished by natural landscapes, isolated beaches and a quieter atmosphere; Mount Athos – the easiest arm, famous for the monastic complex at Mount Athos, a sacred place with restricted access, where Orthodox monks live.
Halkidiki is also one of the most beloved Greece destinations, appreciated for its spectacular landscapes, crystalline beaches and a relaxing atmosphere. It is the ideal place for both those who want to relax in the middle of nature, as well as for those who seek fun and nightlife.
The proximity to our country, just a few hours away with the car, makes this region one of the destinations preferred by Romanians, being accessible and convenient for a quick adventure in an idyllic setting. Halkidiki brings together some of the most coveted treasures of Greece-dream beaches, crystalline waters and the sun that brings you to relaxation, all available to those who do not want to travel endless distances to reach a corner of heaven, such as Santorini, Crete or Mykonos, on the land of the gods. A holiday destination that retains the authentic charm of Greece, without the agitation of long roads, being the perfect place, especially for families with young children or for any traveler in search of ideal getaway near home.
